Accessibility

What we aim for, what we've built in, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Last updated October 21, 2026

We want every guide and calculator here to work for everyone, on any device. We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

What we’ve built in

  • A mobile-first layout that reflows to one column without horizontal scrolling, and stays readable when you zoom to 200%.
  • Text and interface colors chosen to meet AA contrast in both light and dark modes.
  • Full keyboard operation, with visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
  • Semantic headings, landmarks, and labels so screen readers can navigate the page.
  • Calculators built as labelled form controls with clear error messages, usable by touch and keyboard, with no hover-only interactions.
  • Data tables that carry row labels so they make sense when stacked on a narrow screen.
  • Respect for your “reduce motion” setting; meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text.

Light, dark and system themes

The site follows your device’s light or dark preference and lets you override it with the theme control in the footer. Your choice is remembered in this browser only.

Known limits

We improve this site continually, and some pages get more testing than others. If something is hard to read, operate or understand with assistive technology, that’s a bug to us.

Tell us about a barrier

Email [email protected] or use our contact form and describe what got in your way and the device or assistive technology you were using. We’ll work to fix it.
